So, as I have talked about in some previous posts, Dodge has an elite team called SRT. SRT took the boring, old, bad looking Neon and turned it into a monstrous, amazing looking machine. It is running a 16 valve DOHC Turbocharged engine. By the way, if you don't know what DOHC means, it means Dual Over Head Cams. In other words, two camshafts are located on top of the pistons, which adds for increased horsepower. The small turbo can deal an ideal amount of boost, around 14 PSI. This car redlines at 6240 RPM and has a topspeed of about 160 MPH. This car was manufactured from 2003-2005 and was rolling out of factory with a little over 200hp.
A question you may have is how much does this cost? The car comes in variations, modified, acr, and stock. ACR, or American Club Racing, sponsored 1,000 of these cars to be in the racing lineup. Those cars, today, can cost from $7,000-$10,000. The stock car in today's market can range from $3,000-$5,000 depending on what shape and how many miles. The modified versions can go for $20,000 +/- depending on how much work has been done to it.
I am now taking requests as the random car of the week. It can be anything from Italian supercar to American trucks. Just post in the comments section below what car you would like it to be.
UPDATE : For anyone wondering what SRT-4 Stands for in the name Dodge Neon SRT-4, SRT is the elite Dodge racing team, Street and Racing Technology, and the four means four cylinders.
